The Briar Club's history is synonymous with entertaining from its inception. Originally beginning as the Coral Club, The Briar Club’s philosophy evolved from the ‘traditional’ meeting place to the desirable club it is today when a group of young professionals created the vision of family bonding and enjoyable food combined with swimming, tennis, and dancing.
Now celebrating 64 years of well-balanced club traditions, The Briar Club goes a step further and embraces a true family-focused orientation. The Briar Club has something for every family, regardless of age or size. In our beautiful “sanctuary from the city” you will find state-of-the-art tennis courts, fitness and wellness centers, exercise studios, outdoor heated and chilled pools, interactive children’s facilities and dining on par with the best restaurants Houston has to offer. The Briar Club atmosphere blends energy with gracious living and modern informality with honored club traditions that enhance family life and supports social connectedness.
For several years Briar Club members have been hard at work developing a Strategic Master Plan that would propel The Briar Club into her next sixty years and beyond. In November, the plan came to fruition as members voted in favor of the project slated to begin in October of 2013. The project will be completed in phases allowing the club to remain fully operational throughout the entire process.
